Stash your pills

What do you know… guess who left their prednisone at home. **Heavy sigh**
That would be me.
Though it has its share of monstrous side effects (weight gain, mood swings, etc.) it has proven to be a wonder drug for keeping my pain at bay.
Bad enough I was already feeling achy before I got to work and of course the A/C in the office was cranked to the max.
I searched my purse at least three times like a crack fiend, hoping to find that tiny “white magic” pill.  No hope there.
I’m glad my co-worker didn’t see – it would only add to her suspicion after she saw that pill bottle on my desk the other day.
I even searched my car, thinking maybe my sloppiness might pay off and I’d find a pill that had fallen through the cracks somewhere.
Gross, I know…

Ironically, a friend I met at lupus meeting in Orlando works a couple of blocks away from my job. I even asked if she had any prednisone on her, but she didn’t return my email. Resigned to the fact that this would probably be a painful day I downed two Aleve hoping it would do the trick until I got home. After dealing with lupus for more than two years, you’d think that I’d help myself out and stash pills in the car, at work, or something… But as soon as I think to do it, it leaves my mind until the next “incident”. Evidently, I still haven’t mastered No. 7 on the lupus patient tip list.

What are some tricks and tips you use to make sure you have your medication with you?
