Introducing In the “Lupe”

Posted in

Well, here I go making another crazy commitment. One that I’ve had trouble keeping in the past. I’m jumping back on the blogging saddle! I’ve decided to participate in my writing group See Jane Write’s #bloglikecrazy challenge this month. And ideally I’m supposed to be blogging EVERY DAY this month.

Every. Day.

My blog hasn’t seen hide nor hair of me since early this year. It’s been that long. My Dad, not a writer, told me that writers should be able to write any time. To prove this he woke me out of a dead sleep when I was young, stuck a pen and legal pad in front of me and told me to write. It was one of his, let’s say, highly unorthodox parental tactics. But it stuck with me.

The theme for this 30-Day Series is In the “Lupe” (hopefully you catch the play on words here lol), a behind-the-scenes look of everyday life as a lupus and dialysis patient.

I do my best to capture the highs and lows of my life — and the real life issues that are going on — good, bad and ugly. What I find is that this disease (or dis-ease, depending on your perspective) shows itself in big and small ways in my life, in my marriage and in my relationships.

Many say that I inspire them, which is somethingĀ I haven’t full adjusted to. I see myself as living in my purpose for this season and I’m glad to be used to make an impact. But I want to be careful to 1) always point anything noteworthy I do back to God. 2) Make sure people see my holistically (the good and not so good) before using the I-word. Life with lupus isn’t easy, but it’s not always devastating either.

  1. Good to hear from you. You are a kind and supportive blogger. The kind we need. Lupus is not always awful however it remains there and pops up when we least expect it. SURPRISE!!!! Ever had issues with your eyes or the light? My last flare has made my eyes super light sensitive.
Keep blogging . sometimes what you share will help a person get thru an awful day.
Bless you for blogging. thank God for you.
    Hugs,Chris
